Voter Registration Palooza 2026
Join the largest, most spectacular, extraordinary and ambitious voter registration effort in the history of the State of Texas.
In the final weeks — and especially the final 72 hours — before the voter registration deadline on Monday, October 5, 2026, we are hosting thousands of registration events all across Texas.
A Palooza “event” is any place a Deputy Voter Registrar sets up a table, or works a clipboard, and registers Texans to vote for a two-hour stretch.
- You, all by yourself, can hold an event in your front yard.
- Your organization can hold dozens of events.
- A county Democratic Party can organize a hundred.
The goal: 2,500 events and 100,000 new registrants.

Hold your event anywhere people gather
- On a street corner
- At a coffee shop
- At a school, or outside a theater
- In a bar, a disco, a church, or a mosque
- At midnight in the entertainment district
- At dawn on the jogging trail
- Or anywhere people congregate
- Or among the naked people at Hippie Hollow in Austin. Yes, we have done it, and it is very productive.
We will email you all kinds of ideas and best practices. Make your event fit your audience.
All you need to do
- Become a Deputy Voter Registrar. It is easy, quick, and painless.
- Find a small table — an old ironing board works — a chair, some pens, and a pair of scissors if your receipts are not perforated.
- Make some signs, or order the ones we are having printed.
- Decide on a location. Or several.
- Get excited and get out there at whatever time makes sense for your location.
- Make some “Good Trouble.” Have friends — they do not have to be Deputy Voter Registrars — join you to “fly” the “Register to Vote” signs in the traffic. Yes, we said in the street.
- Deliver your completed forms to the appropriate County Voter Registrar no later than Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
- Report back to our team how many new voters you registered during each event.
- Check the site for a count of how many two-hour events we have going.
This one is the law
Every completed application must reach the County Voter Registrar by Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Failing to turn one in is a crime — and it costs a voter their vote.
